Sen. Rubio: No Interest In Being U.S. Secretary Of State

Senate Votes On Nomination Of Betsy DeVos To Be Secretary Of Education

Sen. Marco Rubio is denying rumors that he plans to leave office early to become U.S. Secretary of State.

This after reports that current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is looking to run for a Kansas seat in the Senate.

Responding to questions from reporters in Washington, Rubio this week said he intends to complete his current term, which runs until January 2023. The senator says he hasn't been approached about joining the Trump administration.

Rubio was a Republican candidate for president when Donald Trump won in 2016.
