Thanksgiving is next week- is your vehicle holiday road trip ready?

Next week more than 2.6 million Floridians will gas-up their vehicles and hit the holiday road. Unfortunately, thousands of them will face trouble along the way to their destination. If you're planning to travel over the holiday- AAA asks- is your vehicle road trip ready?

"Check your tire pressure and tread," spokesman Mark Jenkins says. "You should listen to and feel the brakes. Secure and test the battery. We've had some cold weather that has moved through Florida in the past few days and that can take a major toll on your battery and some people might not realize their battery is about to die."

Jenkins says the auto club expects to receive more than 360,000 calls for roadside assistance over the Thanksgiving holiday across the country. The three most common calls from drivers are for flat tires, dead batteries and lockouts.

AAA also suggests topping off engine oil and other fluids and checking belts and hoses.

This is expected to be the busiest week for Thanksgiving travel since 2005.
