Dolly Parton Offers Message Of Hope In New Song, 'When Life Is Good Again'

Dolly Parton is sharing an encouraging message of hope with fans as people continue to face challenges amid the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. On Wednesday (May 27) the country icon released a new song called "When Life Is Good Again."

The song finds Parton looking ahead to life after the global health crisis. Throughout the track, the country icon promises to be more thoughtful and live life to the fullest when all of this passes. She also encourages others to be simply be better people.

"We've been brought to our knees / We've been so ill at ease / There are no guarantees / But you know life goes on / This too shall pass away," Parton sings in the second chorus. Later in the song she goes on to sing fo what she'll do once quarantine is done. "I’ll sell my boat and fly my kite/Walk in the park, go out at night/And hold my loved ones extra tight/When everything is on the mend/I’ll even drink with my old friends/Sing and play my mandolin."

Throughout the pandemic, Parton has consistently been a source of positivity for fans. In April, the singer launched a Livestream series called Goodnight With Dolly, where she reads bedtime stories to children online. Books for the 10-week series will be drawn from Parton's Imagination Library, a literacy program that mails a book to children every month until they begin school.

Additionally, Parton also donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University in support of coronavirus research. "My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure," Parton shared at the time. "I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations."
